LETTER: Home Repairs Helped Her Out

From: Lois Sexton Tweed, Rising Sun

Christmas in April is a wonderful way of helping people who can't help themselves when it comes to home repairs. On Saturday April 26th, members from Janes United Methodist Church in Rising Sun and Bunny Martin, President of Christmas in April, gave me the best Christmas present ever.

This group of men, women, and teen boys built me a new deck, put a coat of sealer on the roof ,and painted the back deck with a non-slip paint.

They weeded around my home, the teens mowed and trimmed all the yard, and the ladies cleaned and rearranged the two memorial flower gardens I have in memory of my son, Mickey, and great granddaughter, Taylor. They also planted pretty flowers in the gardens.

I would like to thank the Project Leader, Mark Poulsen, Sr., who contracts as MVP Builders. Besides Mark Poulsen, Sr., other workers includedMark Poulsen Jr., Pete Pritchard, Bill Billiet, Helen Billiet, Dominick Massimiano, Nathan DiVirgillo, Debbie DiVirgillo, Liz Tiemann, Dawn Deckman, and Rev. Jim Jones. Bunny Martin stopped by and what a pleasure it was to meet her.

Many thanks to all who took charge to arrange this day for me and please know that I greatly appreciate all that was done for me. God Bless All.

Check out the Christmas in April program. It can help you too.
