LETTER: Christmas in April a Terrific Program

From: Eleanor Butler, North East

Christmas in April Cecil County combines sponsors and volunteers from the county to help rehabilitate homes of the elderly, low-income, and disabled. On the last Saturday in April, in communities across the nation, hundreds of neighborly projects are completed.

I have been fortunate to once more have Christmas in April help me out. Nine enthusiastic volunteers from UPS spent a generous part of April 30 doing jobs I really needed done, but couldn't do myself. And as busy as they were - replacing a trestle, painting the back porch floor, washing windows, and weeding, pruning and mulching my yard - they found time to chat and laugh with me.

My yard and house look so much better because of Christmas in April (Bunny Martin) and the nine volunteers from UPS. I am most grateful.
